Il Viaggio Verso L'Italia

Learning Italian, Phrase by Simple Phrase

Ciao!

Hello! This daily blog chronicles the journey of an American learning Italian, phrase by simple phrase. I speak English and some Spanish, and it is from this base that I will pick up Italian. I also speak Cantonese, having been born in Hong Kong, but there is almost no relation between Cantonese and Italian, and it isn't nearly as useful as Spanish for the sake of comparison. There are more details on this language journey in my third post.

A little bit more about me: I was trained as an engineer and researcher, and do my best to break down Italian phrases into manageable chunks that are easy for the brain to absorb and retain. I will also throw in bits of stories to keep things interesting, and source as much information as possible on proper usage from friends who happen to come from all different regions of Italy.

You can read more about my obsession with Italy, particularly Sicily, and my motivation to learn Italian here.
